Past

Lucjan had been born just before the start of the dark ages. He was the product of two clans. His mother had been an Lavoie while his father a Azarola. Their union had been the construction of their clan--an alliance to be sealed through the vows of marriage. Tension had existed between the two families for awhile and had been growing with increasing volume with each passing year. Many claimed that the disappearance of the Lavoie's other daughter had been the breaking point.

A disappearance that they claimed were the fault of one of the Azarola's own. They claimed that he had been the last one to see her, and he had done something to her. What exactly they didn't know, but they weren't shy about presenting theories--many of which had something to do with her specialization one way or another. His father's parents made no attempt to deny that it was an Azarola that had been the last one to have been seen with her, but that did not mean he had been family. They, also, claimed the fact that he might have cultivated her powers shouldn't be used against them. Many wished to gain control of that power--including members of his mother's own clan.

His father's parents claimed that if her disappearance had anything to do with her powers that another witch seeking to claim them would have--one way or another--contributed to her disappearance, or perhaps the Lavoie's beloved daughter didn't have as much control over her abilities as they liked to believe. The very idea that his father's family were not taking responsibility for their daughter's disappearance and even going as far as to insinuate that it had been her own fault was an insult too great to bear. His mother's parents claimed that if the Azarola's weren't going to take responsibility for their own that they will get justice for their daughter upon the field of battle.

This would never come to pass, because within days of this threat being issued the leaders of both clans stepped in. They claimed that the loss of a child was a very sad event, but the Azarola's were right there were no way of knowing how much responsibility one of their own contributed to her disappearance. This didn't mean that they couldn't extend an heartfelt apology to the Lavoie over this unfortunate event because as far as both clan leaders were concern the last person seen with her had been one of his father's relative. Both leaders knew that this weren't the only issue the two families had with each other, and that even with it resolved that they would end up going to war.

In order to avoid this, their leaders ordered the two clans to join together through the sanctity of marriage, and that if either side tried anything to keep this marriage from happening or to break the oath of family that both will be utterly destroyed. Neither families had the strength nor will to go against their leaders so they reluctantly agreed, and a few short months later Lucjan's parents were married. Both went into the marriage clinging to the idea that they would always hate each other, and would barely pull enough strength to stomach preforming their marital duties every once in awhile.

They were quickly proven wrong. It didn't take them long to realize they had much in common, and they found they enjoyed the pleasure of each other company more than they might have believed. Soon the idea that they each had came from families that had loathed each other became a distant memories. This didn't mean that their marriage was perfect. They had their share of problems, but their marriage was test more by the difficulty they had in having a child than the strife between their two families. Their problem with having a child didn't come from the ability to get pregnant.

His parents found that they could do that with no problem, but they found when it came to carrying that child to term that Lucjan's mother found this nearly impossible. In fact, every pregnancy before Lucjan ended this way, and he was the only child they had. His mother's pregnancy with him was no less difficult than her other pregnancy. There were times that his parents thought that she was going to lose him, but it was through a miracle that she managed to carry him to term. However, she will never see her child grow. She died bringing Lucjan into the world. The midwife knew that this was going to be her fate, but she had believed that the child inside her was going to share it. Lucjan's mother told the woman that she was going to live long enough for her child to entire the world alive, and the midwife better make sure that remains true when she hands the child over to his father.

True to her words, Lucjan's mother clung to life long enough to bring Lucjan into the world. The last thing she heard before succumbing to death was her husband telling her that their child was beautiful when she asked how he was. The death of his beloved hit his father hard, but he didn't allow that keep him from loving his child. In fact, his father vowed to love his child twice. Once for himself, and once for Lucjan's mother whom will never see her son grow. His father never kept anything about Lucjan's mother a secret from him. Everything that Lucjan wished to know about his mother his father didn't hesitate to share with him. Lucjan grew-up in a happy and loving environment, and retrieved the best education that his family could provide from him--whether it was magical or otherwise.

Many historians agree that Asmiara's dark ages didn't official start until the start of Lucjan's magical puberty. Through, Lucjan isn't foolish enough to believe that his magical puberty played any role in the start of the dark ages. The two dates are merely coincidental, but connecting the two within his mind helps him retain some idea on just how old he is. It, also, helps him remember when he first met her--the goddess Aine. She had taken residence inside a female witch--something she had done many times before. She joined with a mortal in this manner in order to experience what it was like to be mortal. Lucjan was drawn to her, and fell in love with her before he realize who she was.

It was only through her host's death that he learned the truth. Aine never intervene with her host lives. She was merely content to sit back, and experience whatever lives her hosts had been flung into. Her currant body's death was no one's fault. It was the result of a tragic accident that no one saw coming. She, Lucjan and several other young witches had been free climbing a cliff when she lost her footing and fell to her death. Lucjan rushed to her side as quickly as he could, but by the time he arrived it was too late. The girl has passed onto the other side, and Aine only stayed long enough because she wished to see Lucjan's face one last time. She knew that he would come for her as soon as she fell, but she didn't know if he would be alive when she took another body.

Lucjan promised that he would, and he kept that promise. In fact, he kept it countless times over---finding many of the bodies she had decided to dwell inside. He likes to attribute his own ascension into godhood as his desire to keep this promise. He wanted to make sure that he was always around to find her when she found a new body as well as be able to protect that body if the need arose. He became a god of war, and with time he eventually became the patron god of the Azarola clan--who later hanged their name to  Paxton. He continued to find her throughout the ages until she took residence inside a mortal
from earth.

He had been to earth many times before, but he had never encountered his beloved there. Just like with the others, it didn't take him long to realize that she had taken residence inside the earthling. He proceeded to form a relationship with the human--a task that wasn't all that easy given events in her past. However, he somehow managed to earn both her trust and love. One should not make the mistake in thinking that he only cared for  the goddess, because that was the furthest thing from the truth. Lucjan loved her hosts as much as he loved her, and in many ways viewed them as her incarnations.

It was for this reason that when it came time to revealing the truth of whom and what he was to the human girl that he made his decision more for the human than for the goddess that dwelled inside her. Lucjan knew that the goddess would have made no attempt to keep him from bringing the human to Asmiara. She was more than content to watch whatever path life decided to take her bodies down. However, he knew the human would never be happy there. Anything supernatural reminded her too much of her past, and he did not want to cause her any more grief than what she already had to endure. So, he made no mention of a planet of magic or that he was a being of magic. He allowed her to believe that he was a human just like her.

They were eventually married, and had ten beautiful children. Everything was perfect. They both had jobs that they loved. A life that provided both their financial and emotional needs, but all that went down the drain. The company that Lucjan worked for had to be shut down after their illegal connections became known to the government. His wife ended up losing her source of income when she sold her voice to a witch in order to stop their eldest son from being driven insane by his power. They were forced to move their nice home to one within the slum of the city they lived in, and this was all before the birth of their tenth and final child.

In spite going from riches to rags, life was still a good one. Lucjan learned just like his children
that you didn't need money to be happy. This did not mean that they did not suffer from their financial woes. They did, and there were many times that Lucjan thought about taking his family back to Asmiara--knowing if he did that they wouldn't have the suffer the hardship of being poor, but he never did. He somehow believed that if he did that he would be breaking his vow to his wife to allow her to live a normal human life without the influence of magic. He might have never made this promise allowed to her, but keeping it was still extremely important to him.

Besides, aside from his oldest none of his children seemed to display any sign of their witch heritage, and his oldest abilities could have been something he had inherited from his mother. He came to realize just how wrong he had been the very moment his family was taken from him. His oldest son caught the attention of a rich socialite, whose affection he had no desire of returning. This did not please the woman, and she did everything in her power to force him to love her---including sending an assassin to kill his family. This assassin sensing the power within Lucjan's children that he somehow missed cast a spell to steal not only their power but their souls as well.

Lucjan sensing this spell in the mix moved to cast a counter one, but found himself being sent back to Asmiara before he had a chance to. He isn't certain if this was something that the assassin
had done intentionally, a side effect of the assasin's spell, or something entirely different at play. The only thing he knew was he was back on his home planet, and when he finally return to earth that most of his family had been wiped out. Only his youngest and oldest remained. His oldest had sold his soul to a demon in an attempt to save his family. His youngest powers awoken during the attack, and he more or less turned the assassin spells against him.

Lucjan could have told both his children that he was alive, but he elected not to. Instead, he merely sat back and watch them from the shadow. His youngest found his way towards Asmiara where he revived the Lavoie clan while his oldest went on a quest of revenge against the woman that had destroyed his family. It was a quest that he had came to regret, and one that would put a strain upon the relationship with the daughter
that was conceived in this quest.

Present

As the years past Lucjan found that his children had not perished by the assassin's hand as he originally thought. The first child he had found actually survived was his youngest daughter . She had been sent into the future, and ascended into a pure soul. It was her power as a power soul that allowed her to separate the goddess from the human, and give them both a body. Other of his children had came out of the wood works, and he wouldn't be surprised if the rest were alive out there somewhere.

He still haven't told any of his children that he is alive, but he knows the day they will realize the truth will arrive--especially since he had became reacquainted with the goddess. He know when the day that his children finally realize that he is alive and that he has been living on Asmiara this entire time that they will have plenty of questions for him. He just isn't certain how he will answer them. He does know, however, that he is proud of the children he know is alive, the children they had and even the children that his grandchildren have had.
